waterlilies

On Sunday I went to a museum near the famous Louvre, called l’Orangerie. There you can find Monet’s huge famous painting of waterlilies, les Nymphéas in French. They were really beautiful. I also saw a film about them and Monet. The museum also has quite a few paintings by Renoir, who is one of my favourite painters. So, I enjoyed the visit very much.
I thought I’d come out from the l’Orangerie just in time for le Tour de France arriving in Paris and I found a really good place to stand. I waited for a while, and the man next to me got really restless because we saw no bikes. Then he takes out his mobile phone and phones someone who is sitting in front of the TV watching the race, to ask how many kilometres they’ve left to Paris. Since I noticed the man speaks Danish, I listened to his conversation and found out they still have 84 km left! So, no Tour de France, because I was meeting with my friends just a while later.
This week is the last one of the sales, so I felt I ought to profit from that - and so I did. *whoops* Now I have to stop shopping or we’ll have to eat beans everyday with Andreas. But I did find some really nice clothes.
Today we changed teachers in our course. My first impression of our new teacher is that she’s going to make us work hard. That is I guess a good thing, even though it’s quite annoying now when the nice weather finally arrived. We also start a new course tomorrow, a phonetics course.
I’ve been at Paris Plage (the fake beach by the Seine) all day with my friends (I feel I’m really making an effort for our suntan-competition
) just enjoying the day. I missed the sea and the archipelago though. Everyone thinks it’s quite funny that I really want to be in the sun all the time - never in the shadow. I guess it’s because I’m a daughter of light and of the day, not the night nor the darkness. (See 1 Thess.5:5) ![]()

You are definitely a daughter of the light
I’ve noticed that Finns are often sun worshippers (to compensate for the long dark winters) but we should be more skin cancer aware too - so use sunscreen dear friend. You’ll still tan beautifully but with much less risk!
(and if I sound like a mum - laughing - that’s because I am one
hugs xx enjoy your time with your lovely Andreas!

Die Rechtfertigung deiner eitelkeitbedingten Sonnensucht durch 1.Thess5.5 halte ich für teologisch gewagt!
